Making the Revo jump

It's been an exciting few weeks with the public release of MODx Revolution 2.0. I'll be honest: as much as I'm looking forward to making the jump into Revo and all the added functionality and flexibility it brings with it, and despite the fact that I installed and played around with the betas, it's still pretty intimidating to leave behind something that's been so comfortable for years.

Create an ajax API generator with wrapper snippets and Ditto

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, but I've been working on a project for the past few weeks that has really pushed my own skill levels to the brink. I'd like to show you the results of that project today, and also show you how to create a similar system yourself using MODx basics.

Knock JSON down to size with MODx and Ditto

A recent work project required me to generate a JSON file. I feel obligated to mention that prior to this project, I thought JSON was just the misspelling of some poor guy's first name. Not only that, but this strange file format scared the hell out of me. But thanks to MODx's flexibility, I was amazed at how easy it really was to conquer.

Add endless TVs to a single document

SPOILER ALERT: If you read that headline and started salivating, I've got bad news – I haven't found a foolproof solution to this problem. What I have found is a workaround, as well as a fledgling coding project that could solve the issue in the future.

New look, plus a new snippet

The new Eat.Sleep.MODx. is here! Sorry for the delays and the rough edges. I'm still building out a few pages here and there (like the archives and the contact form) and tidying up the CSS, but this should at least be usable. Since this is my first legitimate post, I want to show you a snippet I whipped up that you're welcome to use on your own sites.

Wait for it...

Sorry for the delays, but I just couldn't bring myself to launch this blog using a free template. I decided to design it from scratch, which always takes twice as long as you'd expect. I should be ready to go in a week or so.

It's alive!

It ain't much. Actually, it's less than not much. "Not much" would lead you to believe that at least some of the links on this site actually work. But setting up a blog dedicated to the MODx content management framework has been on my to-do list for months.
